The folks and my brother have been around. The sewing is slow and somewhat pushed to the side. Roan was in school this morning and everyone seemed to be self entertaining, so I sewed up another bird for the flock quilt. I think that makes 6 blocks. I have some beige Joel Dewberry Woodgrain on the way for the sashing. Each will receive a solid border first I think.
I think it’s my favorite so far. The owl fabric was a remnant from Joann’s. The stripe is a favorite Amy Butler that I hear is discontinued. I might have to give up sewing when I run out of this and the moon dots.
I finally ordered the Kona Charcoal Gray for Kara’s Wedding Quilt, but I’m not sure now if I will even use it. Its hue reminds me of sludge. I’m also having some trouble moving on in general with it. Horizontal or Vertical? Not sure if I’ll offset them, or how I will block them. I guess it will have to sit for a bit and wait for an inspirational moment.
I’m hoping for a little more time to finish edging them today.
Gorgeous! I love that owl, how sweet. I can’t believe they are discontinuing the Lotus range, especially the Moon Dots, how will we all survive??? Somehow I don’t see giving up sewing in your future at all, thank goodness coz you are very inspiring, I love visiting your blog and seeing what you’ve whipped up. Look forward to visiting again soon to perhaps see some more birdy brilliance! 🙂
Just went back to look at the flock again, they are all gorgeous, but the Paloma block is still my fave, the colours in that block are just heavenly! I think your new block is my second fave now tho. 🙂
Love watching your flock grow bigger! You have a great eye for composition – that red frame makes the whole block.
Oh I love the owl block..and I think the gray sounds great but I totally know what you mean about getting stuck on a project. I like them both ways but I have to say seeing the blocks lined up horizontal is my favorite 🙂
Love your newest block!!
Hi
The bird block is very cute.
I like you wedding blocks alot, and I think they are best horizontal. But I’m sure they are gonna look great either way.
This is an amazing design! I really, really like the pieced borders around the solid middles.

These rectangular blocks are really cute! I can’t wait to see how your quilts looks
