We compromised this year on the Halloween costume. I’m not in the believer camp of sewing costumes. I’m not good with deadlines. Roan wanted to be a guygirl. Translation…gargoyle. Old Navy came through for I think the last year before he’ll be sized out. I brought home a bat and a dragon. Bats are pretty big in our house right now, so that won hands down.
I was however rather enchanted with the retro Halloween fabric popping up in stores this season. As an excuse to buy some my mother and I made trick-or-treat bags for the kids. She went with standard handles and finished her two in no time flat. I of course had to do something “different” and opted for the handles in a continuous strip. It took me twice as long, but turned out super cute.
