Waffles are easier than you think. I wanna say this is a Martha Stewart recipe. I think she has the doughy stuff down, but i don’t bother with her other recipes which are generally on the bland side. These waffles release the most inviting aroma, guests walking in the door always comment on how wonderful it smells.
Serves 4-6 Set your ingredients out the night before.
*2 cups all-purpose flour
*1/4 cup brown sugar
*1 tsp. baking soda
*1 ½ tsp. baking powder
*1/2 tsp. cinnamon
*1/2 tsp. salt
*3 eggs separated, room temperature
*2 cups buttermilk, room temperature
*8 Tbsp. butter, melted
*1 tsp. vanilla extract
Heat the iron.
Sift all dry ingredients and whisk wet, except whites.
Beat the whites till peaked.
Combine the wet in to the dry and gently fold in the whites.
Cook about 1/3 cup of batter till it waffle is browned and easily pulls from iron
