Kaffe Fasset Clouds
It’s actually Saturday, not Sunday for me. It’s raining. I shouldn’t even be posting, I need to be getting ready for our friends from Alaska to arrive. Four fun filled days of eating, drinking and cohabitating in my 700 square foot house with 5 other people.
It involves packing up the studio part of [...]

I love the fabric Nettie from A Quilt is Nice sent. The Denyse Schmidt posies are delightfully vintage looking, and have that handkerchief feel. I knew I wanted a substantial amount of them as my dark. A simple block was also the goal. A block, that when sashed would hold its own.
I pieced it together [...]

Sandy Henderson’s Farmer’s Market Henna Garden.
I was able to use the red of this line in my first block for the Cottage Quilting Bee. It wasn’t something I would have picked up in the store. I fell in love with it, and as you can see a bit of it made it into my stash.
I’m [...]

Value quilts are some of the first quilts I ever made.
Most of us addicted to fabric will find this style of quilt a great display tool for your fabric stash. Baby quilts, wall hangings, bed quilts, or a favorite blankie to cuddle up in on the couch, make it any size you want.
No [...]

My Grandmother was Irish. When she passed my mom cooked for my Grandfather daily. He was German. I’ve eaten my lifetime supply of cabbage and potato dishes, so I’ll opt for my favorite Irish Soda Bread recipe in celebration of the date. This, however, doesn’t mean I won’t eat my weight tonight in cabbage soaked [...]

Remember how I said I was not starting any new projects until my pile was finished? I’m getting there.
I sat down last night once everyone was in bed, and FINALLY pieced together these bits. The linen was a leftover and the bits are scraps.
The idea came from Last-Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts. It’s the Little [...]

I use to travel. My friend and I would pack up our bikes and dog. Drive three days into Mexico, until we reached the sleepy little fishing village of Troncones (which is not so sleepy anymore).
I loved the mercados and would search for the perfect things to take home. Oilcloth that was not the standard [...]

Dear individual(s) who decided to puncture all four tires on my car (and my neighbor’s) Thursday night,
Your act saddens me. With the THOUSAND dollars I had to spend towing, and replacing my tires, I could have:
*Feed my family for two months +.
*Bought my family plane tickets to see my folks this Summer.
*Bought hundreds of yards [...]

Is it Thursday already. I think it must be Spring, things are just too busy. There’s sun outside my window, and I’ve been itching to buy flowers for my window box. We’ve had snow this week, so I must refrain. Snow in March in Seattle…huh?
I’ve been making an effort to post the recipes we [...]
