Roan and I made the rounds this weekend. Two birthdays and a baby shower. Luckily, one said no presents (huh?). They didn’t know they could have a lovely pillow for their child rather than a piece of plastic. Cousin Sam is a space boy. I probably would have been pushing it to do two Saturday [...]

I bought a FQ of this Alice in Wonderland Kokka fabric with a specific idea in mind. To use it as the cover for a portable Tic Tac Toe board. It has the whimsical kiddie graphics that are signature to Kokka, and that wonderful linen blend. I love the heart on Alice’s skirt.
Roan has had [...]

Browsing through my March Country Living Magazine in bed the other night I came upon the Editor’s Pick, Orla Kiely at Target! My kitchen is orange and green, and I had to have them!
I was tempted to get out of bed and check online, but waited until morning. Of course living in Seattle it was [...]

Tia, (aka Campfire Bag Lady) put out a call to the quilting community last week. Donate blocks of THIS DESIGN to be made into charity quilts for those devastated by the recent bushfires in Australia.
A Bushfire Quilting Project Flickr Group has been formed that has all information if you wish to be involved. Dust off [...]

Birthday month is here, for me and the gazillion other Aquarians I hang with. What’s up with that?
Thought of this Alexander Henry Star Sign fabric. I’ve made some pillows and some napkins with it for birthdays. Pretty fun. I originally scored this at Joanns, but then bought more through Cia’s Palette.

I consider myself fairly lucky that today was my first experience in the four plus years of parenting to be puked on. Yep, today was the day.
So besides doing a ton of laundry and reading we embraced Valentine’s Day. I am not much for the actual holiday, but I do like to reflect on LOVE [...]

My Little Love’s commented on my Sunday Stash post about birds, and mentioned some retro flannel birds at Joanns. I’m a sucker for anything flannel, and, well, retro birds? I had to go.
But you know what it’s like when you go to the fabric store for one thing?
I won’t show all, perhaps another post. I [...]

February was the first month of stitching blocks for the Cottage Quilting Bee.
Darci of Stitches and Scissors sent some beautiful fabrics. I liked the mix of scale and colors. I also enjoyed working with fabulous fabrics that were not typically what I would purchase.
Meet the schizophrenic squares:
They’re not quite what I set out to do. [...]

I kept catching sight of the Project Improv button on blogs I frequent. Curious, I checked it out.
Anyways, I did join the group. The group is making quilt blocks for charity quilts using an improvisional method of sewing blocks. Check out the link for more information on this method…I’m too lazy to write it out.
Here’s [...]
