I was motivated by the beautiful weather last weekend. Funny, because I spent quite amount of time inside at the windows looking out at the yard. I sewed, I cleaned. We still made it out to the lake, picked blackberries, attended a birthday party and took bike rides.
I hope to hang the curtains I made last Saturday today. I’ll give them a wide hem for some good drape. Here’s a sneak peek of what they looked like. I had a few pointers, but mostly went on intuition and was sooo pleased with how they turned out. Our kitchen is the coldest room in the house and the Amy Butler decor fabric lined with the heavier muslin should help. Plus, it will be nice not to have to roll up shades all the time.

I also made some pillows. This made Jeffrey laugh, because I’ve been on a pillow making binge.

We “needed” some color.
For the birthday girl I made a pillowcase. Perfect for a three year old. I originally used this tutorial, but found that 3/4 of a yard was plenty of fabric depending on the direction of the print.

Today it’s raining and no need for excuses to stay inside. I have a wedding quilt to piece together that after quite a search I found sashing fabric for it on our trip to the penninsula. I think we’ll stay home.

Oh cozy! I love those days in with no plans other than family and sewing time. Enjoy! I’m in love with those curtains by the way…
